In "Voy a acabar borracho" (1991), Platero y Tú went from being a demo to a full band. Today, I'll show you how Fito and Uoho share the spotlight on four songs from the album. This is the second chapter in the series about Platero y Tú. Their first real LP, the one many discovered before any other, and the album that made me start to understand what could be done with an electric guitar. I bought it when I was fourteen from Tipo magazine, transferred it to cassette, and spent weeks rewinding it to learn the lick for "Por detrás" by ear. No computer, no internet, no YouTube. Just the tape and my ear. In this video, I analyze four songs and one lesson: the synergy between two guitarists is built over many hours. I demonstrate this with three different ways of playing together: ▶ I'm Going to End Up Drunk — the classic arrangement: Fito's rhythm, Uoho's solo ▶ From Behind — Uoho's pentatonic lace over the riff ▶ Look at Me — the guitar layers recovered in the '96 remaster ▶ I Killed Her Because She Was Mine — the double track in unison (and why the guitar needs to be separated from the lyrics) As always: I tell you what I hear and what I think.
