The Church Was Just Accused of Hiding $350 Billion… (Tucker Carlson SMEARS the LDS Church Again!)
TUCKER CARLSON JUST TARGETED THE LDS CHURCH… BUT THE REAL STORY IS BIGGER ⚠️ Tucker Carlson’s new documentary series, The Religion Business, is being marketed as an exposé of organized religion, money, power, hidden assets, and religious authority. But when Tucker Carlson and Nathan Apffel turn their attention to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, something much more troubling begins to emerge. This is not just a conversation about transparency. This is not just a conversation about religious nonprofits. This is not just a conversation about Ensign Peak, SEC filings, or Church reserves. This is about a larger anti-institutional narrative that increasingly treats organized religion itself as suspicious, corrupt, and dangerous — especially when the religion being targeted is a minority faith like the Latter-day Saints. In this episode, we begin our response to Tucker Carlson’s The Religion Business by carefully examining the accusations made against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Episodes 1 and 2. Yes, there was a real SEC settlement involving Ensign Peak Advisors. Yes, there were real questions about Form 13F filings. Yes, the Church paid a civil penalty, Ensign Peak paid a civil penalty, and the reporting method was changed. But Tucker and Nathan take that civil securities issue and frame it as something much darker: as if the Church is not really a church at all, but a corrupt financial machine pretending to be religious. That conclusion is not established by the SEC. And that distinction matters. In this episode, we break down: ✅ Why the Church saving and investing tithing reserves is not sinister — it is stewardship ✅ Why Latter-day Saints should understand provident living at an institutional level ✅ What Ensign Peak actually is ✅ What Form 13F filings are — and what they do NOT reveal ✅ Why “shell companies” and LLCs are not automatically illegal or suspicious ✅ How legal privacy is different from criminal concealment ✅ Why Tucker’s framing depends on financial ignorance and emotional language ✅ What the SEC settlement actually established ✅ What the SEC settlement did NOT establish ✅ Why conspiracy rhetoric against religious minorities is dangerous ✅ Why this issue does not redefine the restored Church of Jesus Christ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a corrupt financial machine pretending to be a church. It is a worldwide Christian faith with temples, missionaries, bishops’ storehouses, welfare farms, humanitarian aid, family history work, education programs, and millions of ordinary members trying to follow Jesus Christ. According to the Church’s own humanitarian reporting, the Church has provided massive assistance around the world through food distribution, clean water initiatives, education programs, disaster relief, refugee support, volunteer service, and welfare efforts. That kind of long-term work requires long-term stewardship. Joseph in Egypt did not consume everything during the years of plenty. He prepared for the years of famine. That was not hoarding. That was wisdom. And in a world filled with economic instability, political hostility, natural disasters, wars, persecution, and spiritual confusion, why would a global Church not prepare for the future? The real danger here is not asking hard questions. We should ask hard questions. We should talk honestly about finances, transparency, regulation, stewardship, and trust. The real danger is allowing critics to take a civil regulatory issue and use it to create a much darker spiritual accusation — that the Church itself is illegitimate. That is the move we expose in this episode. Because the adversary does not only attack faith by attacking doctrine. Sometimes he attacks trust. He attacks covenant community. He attacks priesthood order. He attacks the idea that God could work through an organized Church at all. Do not confuse cynicism with wisdom. Do not confuse suspicion with discernment. And do not let someone else’s contempt become the lens through which you see the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ lives. This is His Church. And no documentary can change that. 🙏 👇 COMMENT BELOW: Do you think Tucker Carlson is asking fair questions — or building a dangerous anti-religion narrative? 👍 Like this video 💬 Leave a comment 🔔 Subscribe to Rise Zion 🌐 Visit risezion.org 🎁 Become a channel member for exclusive raffles and updates #TuckerCarlson #TheReligionBusiness #NathanApffel #LDSChurch #LatterDaySaints #ChurchOfJesusChrist #Mormon #MormonChurch #EnsignPeak #SECSettlement #Form13F #ReligiousFreedom #OrganizedReligion #Christianity #JesusChrist #BookOfMormon #RestoredGospel #RiseZion #FaithUnderAttack #ReligiousMinorities #ConspiracyTheories #ChurchFinances #ProvidentLiving #SecondComing #Zion
