Original ESPN Broadcast with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan was recorded and Digitalized off pre recorded VHS tapes later converted to DVD through a DVD burner and has been restored and making its debut on my Phenia film MLB archival page. On Turn Back the Clock night and both teams wearing the uniforms from the 1962 season the forth game of the four game series from Shea Stadium with starting pitchers Tim Belcher for the Reds and Sid Fernandez for the Mets. Mets centerfielder Vince Coleman leading off the top of the 1st gets ejected by Home Plate Umpire Bruce Froeming for talking trash from the dugout after the third strike called on him and Daryl Boston replaces Coleman. Mets take the early lead in the first on a RBI single from Eddie Murray knocking in Chico Walker from 2nd. Back to back doubles from Barry Larkin and Glenn Braggs helped the Reds to take the 2-1 lead in the 4th Inning as Tim Belcher after the first inning was flawless striking out 7 and no walks shuts down the Mets 23 in a row by the end of the 8th inning. Sid Fernandez goes 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 8 strikeouts while walking 3 and is replace by right hander Doug Jones in the top of the seventh. In a move that may have cost Reds Manager Lou Piniella his job in the end despite the 90 win season from Cincinnati. After Belcher sets down 23 consecutive Mets batters, Piniella brings in Rob Dibble in for the bottom of the 9th. Right away Dibble seems nervous and seems to be overthrowing after striking out Daryl Boston, then walks .154 batting ave Chris Donnels comes back to strike out Kent but then walks Eddie Murray allowing the winning run in the hands of Bobby Bonilla first pitch Bonilla hits a walk off HR a line drive in the Mets bullpen as the Mets sweep the three game series with the Reds and won 7 in a row Barry Jones gets the win (7-6) and Rob Dibble the loss (2-5) Boxscore https://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1...
