On November 2nd, 2000, a user calling himself time_travel_0 appeared on the Time Travel Institute forums and posted a claim that should have been laughed out of the thread within hours. He said he was a soldier from the year 2036. He said he had been sent back on a military retrieval mission to recover an IBM 5100 computer that his era needed to debug legacy code inherited from the late 20th century. He said he had been routed through the year 2000 for what he called personal reasons. He said he was there to observe the world before it changed.
