Winchester Morn Hill CAMC - When the Mega Bucks Morello arrived!

WHERE ARE WE THIS WEEK: Join us on a site tour of the Winchester Morn Hill Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite. Set in the beautiful Hampshire countryside, his spot is a peaceful touring park providing easy access to historic Winchester and the stunning South Downs National Park. The site features impeccably maintained pitches, spotless modern shower blocks, and excellent overall amenities for tourers. For the whole week we were there, the sun was out and we were working in shorts and t-shirts. We could not have asked for better touring weather, sat outside for evening meals etc. During the week, a huge Morello Motorhome turned up. This thing was huge and looking online was valued at about £560,000 as it was a new 2026 mid spec model. The only problem was it was a left hand drive vehicle, which I am not keen on. Other than that, oh boy! what a monster! PITCH: We were on pitch 21 which is a red marker, fully serviced hard standing with awning, water, grey waste and 16 amp EHU. Plenty of room for Connie Comanche and even Freddie Fiat 500 if we had brought him. ONSITE FACILITIES: On site, there is an excellent shower and toilet block, immaculately clean and warm. There is also a disabled/family bathroom with hand rails, low down sink, baby changing area, toilet and A BATH!!! Yep, a half bath actually, but still a bath! The laundry block has a single washer and dryer, but these are commercial models so take 8 KG washing and 10 KG drying. Payment is by contactless card at £5.00 for a 60 min wash and £5 for an hours drying, which is enough for a full load. We managed 2 lots of washing over the last week, and because of the nice weather, we hung the washing out on the rotary dryer. One ELSAN and water point is available near the facilities block on our side of the site. Up the hill is another toilet block and service point, but we didn't venture up that that part of the site. We assume they will be the same layout and services as ours. Everyone we saw was friendly and said hello to us. - That always makes a site stay more enjoyable! VALUE FOR MONEY: Yes, it is great value for a few nights stop over. Most sites get costly if spending a whole week there. WILL WE RETURN: Definitely, we will be back if we are in the area.
