Hundreds of plots were conducted by agronomists at Precision Planting in 2023. A farmer asked Jason Webster, lead commercial agronomist, “If you could go back in time, what would you have done differently at the PTI Farm for the 2023 growing season?” Have your pen and paper ready for this one as you think about what to implement for the 2024 season. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝘀? ‣ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗣𝗧𝗜 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺'𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱: 1. Replace all single-stage closing systems with FurrowForce, a two-stage closing system. 2. Band more fertilizer with Conceal and FurrowJet. 3. Plant more narrow row, 15” corn. 4. Changed the cover crop program to avoid drought complications. 5. Harvest higher moisture corn.
