Martin Rütter sagt...

In his podcast episode 95 from January 4, 2023, Martin Rütter expresses himself in a very polemical and at times extremely disrespectful manner about IGP dog sports and the people involved in them. His knowledge on the subject isn't even superficial – the very title of his podcast ("Schutzhundesport") is outdated. I find it regrettable that someone with such a large media reach and extensive media experience doesn't present a more objective and analytically nuanced view. A person with such a large reach should actually have a special responsibility regarding their public statements and not speak negatively about a sport and its participants with polemics and superficial knowledge. In my video, I refer to the following passage from the podcast: Martin Rütter: I sometimes watch videos of Knut Fuchs. It blows my mind when I see it. Knut Fuchs is/ #00:00:08-2# Katharina: And what is that? (laughs) #00:00:10-3# Martin Rütter: Yes, Katharina, he's kind of, you know, the fucking grandmaster of, I'm the protection dog expert. He's a bit of a guru in the scene, everyone worships Saint Knut. And if you look at his Instagram, it's really shocking, I mean, it's really intense, the kind of pressure these dogs are under. And I generally think this whole "the dog is sent after, takes a run-up" thing, and then there's a 45-kilo Rottweiler slamming into someone's arm. The handler turns around, and I think: Oh, the dog's spine and all that. It's really so intense that I think: What's the point of this? There are so many other ways to exercise a dog. Plus, what's so important to me: I trust enough people to handle it responsibly. That's just how it is. But the people I encounter, and not just twenty years ago in places like this, but even three years ago, I'll tell you quite honestly: I believe that if I were to film there with a hidden camera, randomly picking thirty dog parks, I would definitely see the most serious animal abuse, I would see electric shock collars, I would see heavily intoxicated people, and so on and so forth. But what I'm saying now doesn't mean that everyone there is like that. Right? There are football hooligans, but not everyone who goes to the stadium goes there to fight. But I think the danger to society is extremely high that anyone, without having to register or qualify in any way, is allowed to train and privately handle a potentially dangerous dog. #00:01:47-5# ▬▬Uploads ▬▬▬ 💪 Every Sunday (and sometimes Wednesday) ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ I'd also appreciate your subscription! ❗ -- "Willi" is about Willi, a (still) small Belgian Shepherd. Willi is a Malinois. The Malinois is a short-haired variety of the Belgian Shepherd. After the German Shepherd was overbred in Germany, Malinois are now primarily used as service dogs, but also as sporting dogs. Willi is also intended to participate in dog sports someday. On this channel, I report on Willi's life, his development, and dog training. 💪 Every Sunday (and sometimes Wednesday)
