She meets a group of other trapped humans (Jax, Ragatha, Gangle, Kinger, and Zooble) and, unable to remember her original name, is renamed "Pomni" by the AI's ringmaster, Caine. Pomni notices an exit door while exploring the circus, but the others dismiss her as delusional. While the others embark on a quest to collect geometric creatures called "Gloinks," Pomni accompanies Ragatha and Jax to visit Kaufmo, another human searching for a way out, but discovers he has succumbed to isolation and "abstraction," becoming a mindless beast. While trying to help Ragatha after Kaufmo caused them both to fail, Pomni stumbles upon the exit door and goes through it, finding herself in a maze of office spaces that lead to a forbidden area called "the Void." Caine returns Pomni to the circus, where he imprisons Kaufmo in a basement with other brainwashed humans and repairs Pomni and Ragatha's glitches, before revealing that the "exit" is an unfinished extension he made for the circus. He then invites everyone to a feast of unsustainable digital food, which the others enjoy while Pomni is traumatized by her situation.
