Auckland Metro Units Head South - August 2025 (4K)

Over 2 days in August we saw two generations of Auckland Metro Units being towed south. We start the video off watching DBR 1254 and DC 4818 tow the retired ADL class through Helvetia on their journey south bound for the South Island. The next day we chase DL 9400 towing AM 144 south for a repaint in Wellington. We started the chase just after sunrise at Drury, Sometime later AM 144 developed a wheel fault and stopped at Mercer for quite sometime. After a wait we see the train depart Mercer now with a 20kph restriction, we follow the train as it limps south as far as Ngaruawahia. Train B35 (movement of AM144) ended up being terminated at Hamilton so AM 144 could receive some work before again heading south at a later date. Enjoy!!!!
