Byzantine Angel Mosaic installation at London School of Mosaic
Installation process of a byzantine angel (from Hagia Sofia in Thessalonica) at our school's entrance. The mosaic was made with smalti (traditional mosaic glass), which we fixed with cement onto a plastic coated design template from which we could easily lift the finished sections. The work was made by Diploma students between 2018 and 2020. Film produced by Elliot Kennedy https://www.elliotkennedy.co.uk/ Find out about our Diploma course during which the angel was made: https://www.lsomosaic.com/degree-cour...
