This week we are looking at Technical Fouls in National Federation of High School Basketball Rules. The correct answer whenever a Technical Foul is the ruling is never just "Technical Foul." The correct answer is either: Administrative Technical Foul Team Technical Foul Substitute Technical Foul Player Technical Foul or Bench Technical Foul. As officials, it is critical that we assess the CORRECT technical for the situation and know how to correctly administer the penalty and get the game moving again. Analyzing our own game video is the number one way to improve as basketball officials. Following closely behind is analyzing plays from others' games. What can we learn from the officials on these plays? Let's review positioning, working of the system, call accuracy, rules knowledge and game management. It all comes together on the court.
