While Brazil fights on the field to advance through the stages of the World Cup, we are invited to reflect on our own spiritual "calling." In football, those who don't strive fall behind; in the Christian life, those who don't delve into God's teachings risk losing the greatest of all prizes: the Crown of Eternal Life. In today's lesson, we will delve into the heart of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 748-801). Just as a national team unites under a single flag and a single objective to win the World Cup, the Church is the People that God calls from all corners of the world for an eternal mission. We will see that the Church is not just an institution, but the 'Body of Christ' on the field. If a player isolates himself, the team loses; if the Christian distances himself from the vine and the body, he loses the spiritual breath to reach the crown of Eternal Life.
