In loving Memory of Faith Mwende Kiio

BIRTH The late Faith Mwende Kiio was born in 16/08/1994 in Kitandi Village,Kako Location ,Mbooni Sub-county Makueni County.She was the daughter to Johnbosco Kiio and Jediddah Syombua.She was twin sister to Everlyne Keli and sister to Irene Mutheu and Mercy Mueni. Sister in-law to Alex Kipsang and Anthony Mwendwa.Faith leaves behind two sons :, Lucky Mumo and Leon Kiio. EDUCATION Mwende began her education back in the year 1999 at Kitandi Nursery school,joined Kandulyu Primary School for her Primary education in 2000 , later Maviani Primary school and finaly did her KCPE at Watuka Primary school in 2008.She preceeded to Kisau Girls Secondary school for her secondary education where she completed in the year 2012.After performing very well in her secondary education, Mwende joined University of Kabianga in 2013 for her degree where she attained a Bachelor Degree in Science(Statistics) and graduated in the year 2017. CAREER Mwende worked as an intern in Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, County statistics officeKakamega between May –August 2016.In Sept –March 2019, she joined Japhy Commercial Enterprises as an account officer. Thereafter Mwende worked on contracts with NIIMS (HUDUMA CARD) as a registration assistant in April-May 2019, with Kenya National Census as content Supervisor in August 2019 and with Innovation for Poverty Action Kenya as field officer between Sept-Dec 2019.Between Dec 2020 –March 2021 she was employed on a short contract at Kenya Commercial Bank as data remediation clerk .Since 2022 to her demise Mwende was working with the Co-operative Bank of Kenya (Emali Branch) in different capacities. CHRISTIAN LIFE Mwende was member of African Inland Church (AIC) from her early life as Sunday school child where she found fellowship and spiritual nourishment. She was baptized at AIC Watuka Cornerstone at her young age and remained a staunch Christian until her demise. DEATH Our beloved kin, Faith Mwende sustained gory injuries in a fire incident at a house in Emali st Town in the morning of 1 May 2025,She was then rushed to Kilome Nursing Home by her neighbor where she received first aid and immediate treatment. Owing to the extensive injuries she was referred and transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) the same day. She th remained at the Intensive Care Unit until the night of 5 May 2025 when she painfully lost the battle. Faith put up her best fight and lived on for 5 days where she managed to share disturbing bits of the horrific inferno that caused the injuries that eventually took her life.
