Set in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, this coming-of-age story follows Ganta Nakami, a high school boy struggling with insomnia, and Isaki Magari, a high school girl with the same condition. ﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏ ■Comment The town by the sea where I grew up is famous for having many cloudy days, but strangely enough, when night falls, the stars are incredibly visible. My mother would often tell me the names of the stars out in front of our house. I wrote this song for the two characters’ long, quiet nights, filled with the crisp scent of the air from those memories. I feel truly honored to be involved in such a wonderful work set in Ishikawa Prefecture, where I was raised. The next time I go back home, I’d like to learn the name of another star. Formed in 2012, Homecomings have actively performed both in Japan and abroad, including overseas tours in Taiwan and the UK, as well as five appearances at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. Ayaka Tatamino’s vocals gently envelop feelings of everyday loss, while the lyrics delicately depict fragile moments of daily life. Their performances transform choruses and guitar sounds into vivid colors, moving honestly between indie, emo, shoegaze, and pop. Through music that reaches deep into the listener’s heart, the band has earned strong trust from audiences. In 2018, they provided the theme song for the film “Liz and the Blue Bird”, followed by “Just Only Love” in 2019. In 2023, they performed the opening theme for the TV anime Insomniacs After School, in addition to producing numerous commercial songs. They made their major debut from IRORI Records in spring 2021.
