Black & White Mode on the Nikon Zf: Art or BS?

Is Nikon’s Monochrome mode actually any good — or just a nostalgic gimmick for old film dudes and Instagram purists? In this video, I put the Nikon Zf’s black & white mode through its paces. Expect: POV shots of me struggling to be “artistic” Straight-out-of-camera JPEGs (some better than they deserve to be) RAW edits for the pixel peepers A completely unnecessary (but oddly satisfying) censored can tower And yes, a slightly unhinged conclusion shot in one take. ⚠️ No film comparisons. No romanticism. Just a grown adult playing with picture controls like it’s 2009. 🎞️ Oh — and if you're into black & white, I’m also making free film-style presets for Nikon Z cameras. Tri-X is out. Acros got an upgrade. HP5+ coming soon. 👉 Download the free presets here: https://www.kret.jp/blog/tri-x-that-b... 🛠 Gear list, because you’ll ask: Nikon Zf with Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1.2 and a whole lotta excuses Nikon Z6 for video GoPro Hero 7 Black (still kicking) Edited in DaVinci Resolve & FL Studio because I like pain Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 0:41 - First Set 1:12 - On Location Thoughts 2:05 - Second Set 2:31 - On Location Outro 2:48 - Final Thought Intro 3:10 - Highlight Weighted Metering 3:32 - Manual Focus Aids 3:50 - Compared to Film 4:09 - Files 4:40 - Purpose of BW Mode 5:05 - Advice 5:45 - Outro #NikonZf #BlackAndWhitePhotography #FilmLook #Monochrome #Z24Presets
