Today on Arizona Horizon: The new legislative session is right around the corner so we’re asking advocates what they hope to see from lawmakers this session. We spoke to business advocates Danny Seiden, President and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, about what they would like to see in the year ahead. The Corporate Transparency Act, also known as the CTA, is a new federal law that took effect Jan. 1, 2024. The CTA will require broad categories of domestic or foreign legal entities created or doing business in the U.S. to file reports on themselves, their beneficial owners and company applicants. We spoke with David McCarville, partner at business and finance group Fennemore, about this new law. We also spoke with ASU professor Jay Famiglietti about how his research is helping to monitor groundwater storage changes across the state, find new groundwater, maintain it at a level that will ensure longevity, and fend off overexploitation.
