Cómo era la Zurza?
After obtaining an aerial photograph of Santiago taken in 1971, the filling in of one of the many ravines that crisscrossed the city is clearly visible. The image captures the moment before the urbanization of an old forest that bordered the city center, a still green and continuous territory that was beginning to be transformed by the city's growth. Where water once flowed and vegetation flourished, streets, houses, and straight lines would emerge. Today, more than half a century later, only a few visible traces of that original geography remain, subtle signs that betray what was once a natural landscape.
