Week 4 (May 10) – Choose Wisely – The Need for Discernment / Genesis 3; Psalm 1; Proverbs 1:1-7 Key Point • Ever since Genesis 3, the enemy’s primary weapon has been deception. Jesus called Satan "the father of lies"— one who hates truth. He uses temptation, accusation, and condemnation, to trap us in cycles of making bad choices and thus paralyzing us from living an abundant life. In the garden of Eden, Satan deceived man could do life independent of God, but Jesus came to model a life that is dependant of the Father. He does only what He sees His father doing; He looks to the Father as what to say and speak, He prays constantly always seeking the Father’s will. He is the embodiment of wisdom and His discernment was perfect because of His intimate communion with the Father. The Bible teaches that a wise person navigates life skilfully and is blessed. We need discernment as a weapon to expose the enemy’s scheme and also as protection to guard "life to the full" that Jesus gives. This is cultivated through prayer, scripture, abiding in Christ and submission to the Spirit's leading. #icahk #sermon #icaadmiralty #godisfaithful #admiraltyhk
