UpDown Two-Person Play, Musical "Under the Cherry Blossoms, With You" Starring: UpDown (Takumi Takemori, Hiroki Abe) Theme Song: To My Beloved (Lyrics and Music by Takumi Takemori) After a performance, comedy duo UpDown's Takemori and Abe suddenly suggest, "Let's make a play about the kamikaze pilots." Abe objects, saying, "We can't make comedy about the kamikaze pilots who risked their lives." However, persuaded by Takemori's words, "Each member lived their short life to the fullest, and there must have been both laughter and suffering. Rather than a story about dying, comedians should portray what people thought and how they lived." The two begin work on the play. As they investigate, they discover that a two-seater fighter plane took off from Chiran Airfield in Kagoshima on May 28, 1945. It was 29-year-old Lieutenant Sekine and an 18-year-old pilot. The story then shifts to wartime Japan. Lieutenant Sekine (Takemori) and the young pilot (Abe) meet, and what are they thinking, who are they thinking about, and how do they live until their final day?
