ben & rey || wait for me.

TLJ Novelization by Jason Fry I believed that this song was very fitting for them, just because of the way their relationship is left off in TLJ. This song also usually finds it's way in my sleep playlists, it's like a lullaby. So if this lulls you to sleep I am so sorry haha. I don't think I attempted to stress a point here, except for the fact that Rey thought that the person Maz was referring to was Luke, but it ends up being Kylo. Whoever she was waiting for are never coming back, but Ben will, eventually. They're patiently waiting for each other, allowing the force to do it's thing, allowing the light to lead them to one another. The same way the light guided him to spare Leia. I wanted this to create a calming atmosphere, and a bit romantic..? idk, at least for it to be comforting, because both Ben and Rey bring comfort to each other. What Ben says to Rey, "Don't be afraid, I feel it too," I realized can be placed anywhere while I was editing. At first I had no idea what he meant by that. In this case, he's announcing it in a reassuring way because the force and her ability with it is still very foreign to her. Keeping my fingers crossed that in episode 9 he teaches her a thing or two, gives her a lesson or something on how to control the raw power that both of them have, on how he was able to handle it. (edit: I rewatched this again and there's a couple more things I wanted to say but didn't remember when writing this :P there's a few times when Kylo's attention is pulled to and only to Rey, where he's focusing on her only: the time when Luke's lightsaber called to her, when he sensed her through the force bond, and lastly, when they were about to face the praetorian guards. Those moments its just the two of them. In just about every moment when it's the two of them, his attention.. he's just drawn to her, and I think it's very interesting.) I hope that I explained it well and that it makes sense. I feel like my brain is fried and what I wanted to express about this edit in the description I struggled to put into words. So I hope that whatever doesn't make sense here, will be expressed clearly in the edit :) Also is anyone still heartbroken over what happened between Luke and Ben?? Cuz im not over it. Just the way Luke looks down with his nephew's name on his lips but he can't seem to muster it out...just.. T_T I hope you guys enjoy this edit!! Finally made one and it isn't too short! :PP
