*Epic B9TL!* Brighton and Hove 221 LX58CWK 'Clementina Black' Volvo B9TL Enviro 400 on route 25

Here we see Brighton and Hove 221 LX58CWK 'Clementina Black', a Volvo B9TL Enviro 400, and along with her fellow sisters 222 (ex VE2 and 6951) and 223 (ex VE3 and 6952), are the three B9TL Enviro 400s to not have operated with EYMS. This bus was new to GAL as VE1, and would operate with them up until 2023. It would move to Metrobus in September 2023, with the fleet number of 6950, I rather enjoyed these buses during their time with my local operator, but they weren't the fastest. It'd spend a year with Metrobus before moving to Brighton and Hove in 2024. In 2025, these would have their engines replaced with identical engines to what they had before and these new engines have massively upgraded their performance compared to what they were like at Metrobus and have made them definitely more beefy from what I remember during their time at Metrobus and a lot better sounding. During this refurbishment they would also have their GAL moquette replaced with the Brighton and Hove moquette. Also, unlike the EYMS version, the ex-London ones have a Voith gearbox as opposed to a ZF. With their new engines I can safely say that these are now quite some nice buses, and as someone who enjoyed them during their time with Metrobus, I am happy to see them given this new lease of life with Brighton and Hove.
