Steep Climbs & Sweeping Vistas | Hiking the PA Wild's Stone Cutter Trail

In this video, we trek the Stone Cutter Trail. This trail is a 4.5 mile loop nestled in the Pine Creek Valley and connects to the Pine Creek Rails to Trails system. This 62 mile long trail was at one point, a railroad which carried timber and laborers into and out of this wild and remote region. Now, it serves as an incredible recreation opportunity that carves its way through some of the steepest and most rugged terrain Pennsylvania has to offer. We start out on the Pine Creek Rail Trail near Ramsey, after crossing an abandoned railroad bridge and encountering a black bear crossing the creek, we make our way to the trailhead of the Stone Cutter Trail and begin a steep climb up the face of the ridge.
