Gnarly Trees at Hardcastle Crags

I came across a whole bunch of gnarly trees at Hardcastle Crags, near Hebden Bridge, recently. They can be something of a challenge to paint, though, being as chaotic as they are. I find it best to just dive in with as little preparation as I can get away with, and just enjoy the process of exploration and discovery. The result could use some finesse, but it serves as a reasonable demonstration of how I like to apply textures to trees...
