How many vehicles have passed through Cheongna Sky Bridge since its official opening? An analysis of traffic volume for the month since January 6th, when it opened, shows a total of 1.08 million vehicles. The average daily traffic volume was approximately 34,000, with 22,000 regular vehicles and 12,000 vehicles from Yeongjong, Cheongna, and Bukdo-myeon. We also examined changes in traffic volume on Incheon Bridge and Yeongjong Bridge. This year, the average daily traffic volume on Incheon Bridge has increased by 4.5% from last year to approximately 79,000 vehicles, while Yeongjong Bridge has decreased by 22.4% to approximately 102,000 vehicles. Residents of Yeongjong, Cheongna, and Bukdo-myeon are exempt from tolls on the Cheongna Sky Bridge. To receive the toll exemption, they must register with the discount system, but only 55% of applicants have applied. The Incheon Economic Office believes that, as it is only the first month since opening, it will be necessary to continuously monitor traffic trends before a more detailed analysis can be made.
