First train in two years - Old Colony & Newport Railway, Newport, RI - 5/2023

The first train to run the Newport Secondary between Admiral Kalbfus and the Pell Bridge ramps ran last weekend. The Old Colony & Newport took 4764 lite engine down to the newly rebuilt crossing for the first time then proceeded to the Pell Bridge ramps. There crews walked to a downed tree to clear the track and right of way. This video shows a gopro view from the locomotive as we traversed the track as well as a couple outside shots. The track south of Admiral Kalbfus has not been used in two years because of a construction project and rebuild of the south end of the line.
