I Paid $250 For This Used Power Pole Panel. Did I Get Scammed? And An AI Generated Thumbnail

‪@Ian-in-da-shed‬ always says that a scrapman never wants, he waits. Well, I have waited for two years for a 200 amp panel that would work for me, but it never came along. I figured that I had better jump on this at $250 and hopefully this scrapman will wind up getting it for free in the end. I picked up a used 200-amp outdoor electrical panel on Facebook Marketplace for $250. It came off a power pole, complete with a length of ACSR aluminum wire, a heavy-duty 200A main disconnect switch, multiple 20A and 30A breakers, and a stack of weatherproof GFCI outlet boxes. In this video, I'm stripping down the panel, cleaning up the detritus, and sorting the scrap metal components to see if buying used electrical gear is actually worth the money. We look at the value of salvaging heavy-duty components for farm or shop sub-panels, cleaning up surface rust for reuse, and preparing outdoor GFCI plugs—which are absolutely essential up here for plugging in vehicle block heaters during the brutal winter months. Plus, I managed to pass the actual utility power pole along to a neighbor who desperately needed one for his trailer park! Whether you are into metal scrapping, electrical DIY, or trying to save money on your next shop build, see how much value is hidden inside this old utility box.
