WALKS IN DORSET at LULWORTH CASTLE & COOMBE KEYNES (WITH SPECIAL GUEST "FIVER") (4K)

In this episode of "Walks in Dorset", I take a 6 mile circular walk around the Lulworth Castle Estate near East Lulworth (which is located 6 miles South West of Wareham). I am accompanied by my young Whippet, Fiver. I parked me car at the Lulworth Castle Car Park (cost £3 all day) and initially started off with a wander around Lulworth Castle itself, the Church of St Andrew and the St Mary's Chapel. There is a fee for visiting inside the castle & the chapel. My route then took me Northwards through Lulworth Park up to the Northern Gate House. After a short detour West to explore the Clare Tower, I continued North along a section of The Hardy Way to the tiny hamlet of Coombe Keynes. I had a quick visit to the Holy Rood church in the hamlet before heading East to Haremere Wood & then the Coombe Heath Nature Reserve. My homeward leg took me around the magnificent lake set in the park, past the Park Lodge and back to the cafe at Lulworth Castle (for a cup of tea & a slice of cake). NB: If visiting the area, please check the Lulworth Castle Website page to confirm opening times of both the Castle & the Park. At the time of writing, the Castle itself (but not the park & grounds) is usually closed to the public between Christmas and early March and both the castle & the estate park are closed to the public on Fridays & Saturdays. NB: At 2 mins 10 secs into the video , I should have said "the settlement of Lulvorde or Luloworde recorded in the Domesday Book IS attributed to Lulworth ....... and not WAS recorded in the Domesday Book AS attributed to Lulworth!
