Lazarus was one of Jesus’ close friends, and Jesus often visited him and his sisters, Mary and Martha, in their home. They loved Jesus and enjoyed listening to Him. One day, while Jesus was teaching, Mary sat at His feet to listen, while Martha was busy preparing the house. Jesus gently reminded Martha that listening to God’s Word was most important, and Martha listened to Him. ❤️ Later, Lazarus became very sick. Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus. After two days, Jesus went to Lazarus, but by the time He arrived, Lazarus had already died and had been in the tomb for four days. 😔 Martha went out to meet Jesus and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died." Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life." When Jesus saw Mary and the others crying, He was deeply moved and even wept with them. 😢 Jesus then went to Lazarus’ tomb. He told the people to roll the stone away and prayed to God. Then He called out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” At once, Lazarus came out of the tomb, alive again, wrapped in a headcloth.
