Italian Carabinieri March - La Fedelissima
La Fedelissima (The Faithful) is the official march of the Carabinieri. The Carabinieri are the national gendarmerie of Italy who primarily carry out domestic policing duties. It is one of Italy's main law enforcement agencies. During the reign of the Italian Monarchy the Carabinieri were known to be fiercely loyal to the House of Savoy, and were instrumental in the Italian resistance to fascism after King Victor Emmanuel III dismissed Mussolini in 1943. The march was written in 1929 by Maestro Luigi Cirenei who was the first director of the musical band of the Carabinieri. Pictured: King Umberto II
