I Hated The Fog... Then I Finally Got It

For years, I thought John Carpenter’s The Fog was one of his weaker horror films. Maybe it was because I first watched it in the shadow of Halloween, expecting another Michael Myers-style nightmare. But after revisiting it years later, especially after the terrible 2005 remake, I realised I’d completely misjudged it. In this deep dive, I look back at The Fog (1980), starring Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, Jamie Lee Curtis, Janet Leigh, Hal Holbrook, Nancy Kyes, John Houseman and more. We’ll explore the story of Antonio Bay, the cursed Elizabeth Dane, Blake and his ghostly crew, the film’s incredible John Carpenter score, Dean Cundey’s stunning cinematography, the themes of buried guilt and historical revenge, and why this old-school ghost story has only grown in reputation over the years. Was The Fog unfairly dismissed as just “the movie after Halloween”? Is it actually one of John Carpenter’s most underrated horror classics? And why does its atmosphere still work so well over 40 years later? Let’s dive deep into the mist. #JohnCarpenter #TheFog #HorrorMovies Join this channel to get access to perks:    / @wolfmansgotnards   Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio Merch Store..............► https://wolfmans-got-nards-shop.fourt...
