Former Queensland Liberal premier Campbell Newman comments on new proposed laws for money laundering, claiming they are a “sledgehammer to a walnut”. “I want to make it very clear, of course, that, you know, I think we should be doing what we can to stop money laundering and people are funding terrorism,” Mr Newman said. “The new laws are a sledgehammer to a walnut, worse they’re like iron filings in the gearbox of the economy.”
