Testing out the incredible power of the new FoxAlien 20W laser module! Cuts through 3/4" solid wood!

FoxAlien sent me a sample of their latest 20W laser module to test out! This module features a special fixed focus lens which is set to a focal length of 30mm. This lens uses a new "spot compression" technology which yields a much tighter beam profile. I machined an air nozzle for it and tried cutting through a few materials. I am blown away how much better it cuts than my old 15W laser with the G8 lens! The optical output power of my original 15W FoxAlien module is 7W, but this version is down to about 5-5.5W due to the losses involved in the corrective optics. I've always thought that you want the lens which transmits the greatest percentage of light, but I realized that it is better to sacrifice a little bit of beam energy in order to obtain a better beam profile.
