The Dept. of English, CMS College, Kottayam brings to you a 30 min. performance lecture of "A Chronicle of the Peacocks", a short story by Intizar Hussain. This is a lesson included in the text 'Literature and/as Identity', prescribed for the Sem. III BA/BSc Common English course of MG Uty. A performance lecture, which combines aspects of art forms like drama, photography, narration and lots more, opens fresh avenues of academic exploration and exposure especially in these times of digital learning. Narrated and performed by the faculty members of the department, the short story critiques the rampages of war and conflicts throughout mankind's history. Echoing throughout the narrative is a call of despair: "Oh my creator, when will this evil spirit of war complete its curse and course?", which resounds in every heart that longs to compose chronicles of peace and beauty.
