This trip will take you to Okayama Prefecture in the Chugoku region. Okayama City and Kurashiki City are representative tourist destinations in Okayama Prefecture. Kurashiki boasts the Bikan Historical Quarter, while Okayama has Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden. We'll visit these two major cities in a 2-day, 1-night trip. On the first day, we'll fly from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Okayama Momotaro Airport in Okayama. From the airport, we'll take a limousine bus to Kurashiki Station. The Bikan Historical Quarter is a must-see in Kurashiki! The charming scenery of the old-fashioned streets lining the river is captivating. There's a denim street, souvenir shops, restaurants, and more – it's a great place to enjoy yourself. My recommendation is the Kurashiki Riverboat Cruise, where you can view the Bikan Historical Quarter from the river. It's very popular, so be sure to buy your tickets first! After enjoying the riverboat cruise, take a stroll through the Bikan Historical Quarter! There are plenty of delicious sweets and other treats, so enjoy what you like! 😊 I had a curry bun. On the way from the Bikan Historical Quarter to Kurashiki Station, you'll find some local Okayama udon noodles, so be sure to try them! ✨ After enjoying Kurashiki, we'll take the train to Okayama Station. Our hotel is near Okayama Station, so we'll be fine on the second day too! ✨ After checking in, we'll have dinner at a nearby ramen shop, ending the first day. 🍜 On the second day, we'll have the hotel's free breakfast and then take the tram to Okayama Castle! Okayama Castle is easily accessible! ✨ Okayama Castle and Okayama Korakuen Garden are in the same area, so it doesn't matter whether you visit Okayama Castle or Korakuen Garden first. There's a combined ticket for Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden, which is also recommended. After visiting Okayama Castle, I relaxed and enjoyed the Japanese garden at Korakuen Garden. ✨ There are several tea houses in Korakuen Garden, so I recommend using one if you're tired from walking. I enjoyed some sake and felt great! ♪ After enjoying Korakuen Garden, we'll take a taxi to Okayama Station. Okayama Station is convenient because there's a limousine bus stop for the airport. Okayama Station has a well-equipped underground shopping area, which is great for killing time ✨ The taxi driver I spoke to earlier recommended a restaurant in the underground area where I could enjoy delicious Okayama cuisine, so I went there. After enjoying delicious food and drinks, I took a limousine bus to Okayama Momotaro Airport. At the airport, I had Okayama's soul food, the "Demi-katsu Don" (pork cutlet rice bowl with demi-glace sauce), which I had forgotten to eat earlier. Besides the airport, there are many restaurants in Okayama city where you can eat Demi-katsu Don, so please give it a try.
