Sexualidad autista: deseo y vulnerabilidad.
Autistic sexuality faces a double silence: the myth that autistic people don't desire or have an emotional and sexual life, and the reality of a much greater vulnerability to sexual violence. Research confirms that most autistic people with lower support needs have an active sex life, with no significant differences in age of initiation or risk of sexually transmitted infections compared to the non-autistic population. But this same autonomy that makes connection possible also exposes them to sexual assault, especially women. In this video, I examine both scenarios: desire and protection against harm, which still need to be addressed.
