Haru | YORUSHIKA | Sousou no Frieren OP2 (Piano Trio)

Wow we're 4 for 4 on our goal of generating a live take for each month. Yay for consistency! This arrangement of Sousou no Frieren's S2 opening "Haru" is by Fukane, and was adapted by yours truly for piano trio. I approached this arrangement very similar to last month's arrangement of "Ambivalent"--take an existing piano score of the song, break out the melody to assign to strings where appropriate, and then append the score with my own musical flourishes that I felt would elevate the song. I can't say I like this way of arranging too much, but it is very accommodating to churning out arrangements quickly, so I suppose it's a tool that I should use when time is a valuable resource. Shifting gears to our execution itself, this is another live take that requires a very steady tempo, which I think we don't do a particularly good job of doing. Looking at the live take as a product, shoving IEMs with a click track would probably solve all of the issues, but I feel like we haven't struggled enough with this problem before using technology as a crutch. And so, despite this recordings rhythmic instability, I still want to stay away from using technology as a cover-up for our lack of musical ability, at least in live takes for the time being.
