It all began on an electric day in Pittsburgh, December 27, 1975 when playoff football was at a fever pitch. Half a century later, it's now considered by many the single most iconic sports item ever created to bring a fanbase together. The Terrible Towel. It was the brainchild of Pittsburgh Radio and TV legend Myron Cope. And for 50 years it has tied a community and a nation, Steelers Nation, together by a common golden thread. 'A Steelers Story: The Terrible Towel' is hosted and narrated by Lynn Swann, Steelers Hall of Famer. Swann tells the story of how the Terrible Towel came to be, what he did that helped the fans embrace it, and why the tradition has endured. The story is also told through exclusive interviews with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Steelers President Art Rooney II, Steelers legends Rocky Bleier, John Stallworth, Bill Cowher, and Jerome Bettis, as well as Cope’s daughter Elizabeth, his biographer Dan Joseph and many more. 'A Steelers Story' looks to provide in-depth features on Steelers players and people past and present, historic moments as well as other unique Steelers stories.
