Mildura Weir Removed — Look How Far the River Dropped

With the Mildura Weir removed for essential maintenance, the river level upstream has dropped noticeably — and in this video I take a walk along the Mildura riverfront to have a look from a few different spots. Starting near the boat ramp and working along the riverfront, I show just how much the water has fallen, where the normal river level would usually sit, and how different the Murray looks while the weir is out. It’s not every day you get to see this stretch of river looking like this, so I thought it was worth documenting while the maintenance works are underway. The weir removal is part of scheduled works, with Lock 11 also affected during the maintenance period. River users should keep an eye on official updates before heading out on the water.
