But Why Is This Minah Called Ekyn "Wong"?

Ever since the now-infamous "BUSUKNYA!!!" saga went international, one question has refused to die: why on earth is this particular minah (a term used to describe Malay women) going by the name Ekyn "Wong"? Her actual name is Nur Asyiqin binti Mohd Dalil so somewhere along the way she has travelled from Asyikin to Ekyn and then leapt clean across the linguistic aisle to land on Wong. In this video I try to make sense of a mystery that has been quietly tormenting a small but dedicated group of us, complete with a poll that revealed two-thirds of you suspect she's mocking Chinese people while the rest of us are entertaining far stranger theories. What follows is part investigation, part comedy, and entirely confused. Maybe she fell in love with China on holiday and decided to assimilate. Maybe she was learning Mandarin off one of those Instagram-feed classes and something got lost in translation. Somebody even floated the wild possibility that she's connected to Firdaus Wong himself, which opened up a whole rabbit hole of secret-relationship speculation that I am only half joking about. The truth is nobody seems to have an answer, and that uncertainty is precisely what makes this one of the most oddly fascinating little episodes of the era. So Ikin, if you ever stumble across this video, consider this an open invitation to clear the whole thing up once and for all. Are you in love with Chinese names, do you secretly hate us, or is this the most elaborate identity flex of 2026? I genuinely want to know, and so do a surprising number of people.
