Crime organizado no Rio: tribunal do crime impõe sentenças e deixa rastro de mortes

The clandestine justice system imposed by drug traffickers and militias continues to claim victims in Rio de Janeiro. Known as the "Crime Court," this parallel system judges and sentences people within communities controlled by organized crime. Recent cases highlight the brutality of this mechanism: Matheus William Silva de Oliveira was held captive for three days under the control of criminals; Sandro Castro Menezes was tortured and killed. The Crime Court operates based on unfounded accusations or suspicions that leave victims at the mercy of local leaders without the right to a defense. Sentences are swift or can last for days before being carried out by community bosses.
