Search for CJ: Justice, Legal affairs committee vets Justice Maraga
There was simply no adequate evidence to sentence some of the alleged perpetrators of the post election violence. The nominee for the Chief Justice David Maraga said today, when taken to task over his decision to acquit some of those suspects brought to him charged with the burning of the Kiambaa church that led to the deaths of thirty people in 2008. Maraga has also defended himself against petitions brought against him by members of the public who claim that he is not fit to be the head of the Judiciary.
