Why Pilots Bounce Landings

Most landing problems don’t start in the flare. They start on final… when pilots get fast. In this video, we’ll look at two identical approaches where the airplane is high and fast on final at 80 knots. In the first scenario, the pilot tries to fix the glidepath with power alone while maintaining excessive airspeed — leading to a long float and bounced landing. In the second scenario, the pilot immediately prioritizes proper approach speed, stabilizes the aircraft, and the landing becomes dramatically easier. You’ll learn: Why excess airspeed causes floating landings Why reducing power alone often doesn’t solve the problem How pitch and power actually work together on approach Why stabilized airspeed makes landings predictable The “elevator to the runway” concept professional pilots use Airspeed is energy. And on final approach, airspeed is king. Check out full FlightInsight training courses and more at: https://www.flight-insight.com/our-co...
