Unfortunately, we don't have a large quantity of brass on hand for melting. Initially, I really wanted to make two ingots of 1.5 kg each, but I had to abandon that idea and create smaller ingots. The melting point of brass is 880-950°C, while that of copper is 1083°C, so melting brass shouldn't be a problem. We took an extra amount of brass for melting, as we expected a large amount of slag to form during the melting process. The melting of the brass produced a large amount of white smoke, which is zinc. Casting the ingots was straightforward.
