SMITE PRIEST Solo Scholo Dark Rune Farm

UPDATE -Since phase 5 the Dark Rune drop rate has been drastically lowered for these rooms.* Here's a guide for solo farming dark runes in Scholomance as a holy/smite priest. The first thing you will want to do is consider a 21/25/5 talent spec. The beauty of this spec is the use of Spiritual Guidance + Spirit Tap. When you kill a mob and proc spirit tap your spell damage will increase on top of the increased mana regeneration, which is very important when killing packs of 3-4 elites, especially when many of them mana burn. Feel free to switch out any talents that don't quite suit your tastes, as long as you keep spiritual guidance & spirit tap, it shouldn't matter too much. The gear I use is a combination of Bloodvine, ZG hit gear, and some other pre-bis dungeon gear. Keep in mind, this run is still possible to do even with mostly healing gear - as long as you are specc'd with Spiritual Guidance + Spirit Tap. Your clear time will be longer, but it is still possible. Trinkets I mostly use are Rune of the Dawn & Zandalarian Hero Charm. You'll get scourgestones very fast while doing these runs and the bonus spell damage against undead is great. Lastly, don't be discouraged if you die while practicing. I've been doing this for a few months now and I still die sometimes when I'm not paying attention. Keep practicing and don't give up! Once you get the hang of it you'll have a lot of fun feeling super powerful as a holy/smite priest.
