FLYING SAUCER ROCK AND ROLL | GUITAR LESSON AND TAB | BILLY LEE RILEY

Flying Saucer Rock and Roll was recorded at Sun Studios in 1957 with Billy Lee Riley on vocals and featured Roland Janes on guitar and Jerry Lee Lewis on piano. Roland Janes is now regarded as a leading light in early rockabilly guitar styles and worked as a session musician and Sun but he worried about his performances in the studio. Sam Phillips was much more relaxed about it though and often insisted on using the less perfect performances as they had more of the atmosphere he was seeking. The solos on Flying Saucer Rock and Roll are generally played out of the D shape barre chord at the 10th fret. Not too difficult and brilliant fun to play. This was a request for David Church.
