Simple Minds: Celebrate [Arnhem Mix, Unofficial]

All sounds by Simple Minds, 1980-82. No artificial ingredients added. A live staple to this day, Celebrate is perhaps Simple Mind’s answer to Roxy Music’s ‘Bogus Man’ (if you’ve heard it). This remix is based on a soundboard recording of a concert in Arnhem, February 1982, with additional snippets from the studio version sprinkled on top. I initially intended this as a tribute to Kenny Hyslop (RIP). However, upon completion I re-checked the timeline on Dream Giver Redux only to notice that the drummer featured here is actually Mike Ogletree, an excellent designer of rhythms (Simple Minds have always had great drummers) who had taken over from K.H. earlier that month just prior to the start of the second leg of the Sons & Fascination tour. Be that as it may, we’ll dedicate it to K.H. anyway - and to anyone else who has brought Minds' music to life in any capacity. We salute you. If you haven’t seen it yet, do check out this tribute to KH:    • Kenny in Memory   Videos plundered:    • 4K CABVIEW: Howling winds and HEAVY snow! ...      • Epic Drone Footage Of The Scenic Bergen Li...   PS: The distortion during the outro is deliberate.
