Christian Iberer Photographer // Trainer Hello, my name is Christian. I'm the trainer, and for over 25 years, everything has revolved around photography and image editing. I've been fortunate enough to be able to turn my hobby into a career and share my knowledge not only in photowalks, seminars, and workshops, but also for free on my YouTube channel. My offerings are primarily aimed at amateur photographers – from beginners to professionals. You can find all information, dates, tips & tricks, and news on his website at https://www.dertrainer.eu ➤ What are Christian's Photowalks? Since 2014, I've been hosting my mini-workshops called "Photowalks" every last Saturday of the month from January to November. I started them back then because I noticed that the participants in my photography seminars and workshops wanted to continue learning and, above all, practice regularly. And ideally organized, with fixed dates, always with new and exciting topics at great locations throughout Styria. Back then, I came up with a concept that met all these requirements. The result was the Photowalks Styria, or Christian's Photowalks, as they are now called. The recipe is simple: take a single topic per photowalk, find a suitable location somewhere in Styria where the respective topic can be explained well, and the participants are rewarded for their efforts with great photos. All this at reasonable prices, since this shouldn't be a one-time event but a - at least somewhat regular - fixed appointment. And, of course, it would be best to receive feedback on your own pictures after the photowalk. Well, that's exactly what my photowalks describe. Would you like a small example? Gladly! So. A popular topic besides landscape photography is photographing people. Not in the studio, but "on location," as such things are often called. If you browse the internet these days – for example, on the topic of photographing people – you'll be confronted with countless tutorials. Many are really great, some are bad, but above all, they lack the opportunity to really participate and ask questions, and often involve incredibly expensive equipment that hardly anyone has lying around at home to try out. I've already implemented this theme in many different ways on my photowalks: a Cinderella shoot with a model and costumes from a Styrian designer on the steps of Graz Cathedral, a superhero shoot à la Wolverine with models in an underground parking garage, a Harry Potter shoot with models, costumes, and props followed by a Photoshop workshop on compositing, or a Dolce Vita-style shoot with a model and a Vespa against the picturesque backdrop of a small, authentic trattoria. All you have to do is register, show up, take photos, and ask as many questions as you need until you understand how to photograph people and are able to replicate it all over and over again – whether you're photographing your girlfriend, boyfriend, or family, for example. Above all, you can focus on just one topic during each photowalk and won't be overwhelmed with countless different, and often contradictory information. Practice, experimentation, and fun are definitely the focus of my photowalks. And after each photowalk – on the Saturday after the photowalk starting at 6:00 PM as a livestream – there will be an image review and tips & tricks for editing selected photos in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop from the participants. Phototalk, photowalk, you get the idea ;-) And let's not forget the amazing impressions, unforgettable experiences, and great photos that will result. And because there's a lot to organize, the photowalks aren't free either. A standard three-hour photowalk costs €40 per person, and a masterclass, a photowalk that lasts longer and is more elaborate due to the theme, costs €70 per person. There are three of these every year—always on completely different topics.
