Love in the Anthropocene | Dale Jamieson | TEDxLUISS
What will it be of love in the era of human domination over nature? Can we love what our parents and grandparents used to love? And is it our love the same love they used to share? In his inspiring Talk, Dale Jamieson, Professor of Environmental Studies and Philosophy at New York University (NYU) answers these questions and explains why we can ultimately keep love in the Anthropocene alive. Dale Jamieson is Professor of Environmental Studies and Philosophy, Affiliate Professor of Law and Medical Ethics, and Director of the Animal Studies Initiative at New York University. He is the author of Morality's Progress: Essays on Humans, Other Animals, and the Rest of Nature (2002); Ethics and the Environment: An Introduction (2008); Reason in a Dark Time: Why the Struggle to Stop Climate Change Failed--And What It Means For Our Future (2014); and, with Bonnie Nadzam, Love in the Anthropocene (2015) This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
