A former SBS employee has been indicted on charges of obtaining approximately 830 million won in illicit gains using undisclosed information obtained through the abuse of his official duties. The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office Financial Investigation Division 2 (Chief Prosecutor Kim Tae-gyeom) announced today (the 18th) that it has indicted without detention A, a former SBS employee in charge of disclosures, on charges of violating the Capital Markets Act for trading the company's stock using material undisclosed information regarding a "content supply contract between SBS and Netflix." Following a complaint filed by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) in January of this year, the prosecution raided the residences of A and his father, B, and clarified the charges by investigating SBS and Netflix officials and recovering text messages exchanged with family and colleagues through digital forensics.
