This year, I hit 3 decades on this earth. Turning 30 naturally makes you look back at where you started, where you are right now, and exactly where you are trying to go. For my birthday, I got a gift I’ve been wishing to have for a very long time, but couldn't afford to buy for myself: the Fujifilm XM5. While I usually shoot everything on Sony cameras for my professional survival jobs to pay the bills, getting a Fuji back in my hands felt like a massive full-circle moment. Years ago, my entire journey into professional filmmaking actually started with a Fuji camera that I had absolutely no idea how to use during a high-stakes hiring test.
